SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Hampton University women’s golf team sits in second place after the first round of the Savannah State University Tiger Fall Invitational, which took place Monday. The Lady Pirates have a combined score of 349, one stroke behind leader South Carolina State.

 

Freshmen Dionne West and Sydnee Mauk were tied for third after each shot an 11-over page 82 in the first round. Freshman Iman Ellis shot a 92 to sit in a tie for ninth, while Hailey Hill was 12^th after shooting a first-round 93. Senior Britney Alford shot a 25-over 96 to sit in a tie for 13^th.

 

Honesty Biggers of South Carolina State held the first-round individual lead after shooting an 8-over-par 79.
